Our Skin Resurfacing treatments with the Er: YAG wavelength (2940 nm) provides a precise ablation procedure that instantly removes moderate/severe skin lesions, stimulating an autonomous regeneration process that provides, among other benefits, the contraction of Collagen molecules which allow us to obtain long-lasting “Tightening” results, opening the way for new skin cells, reflecting a rejuvenated and fresh appearance.

Similar resurfacing treatments sometimes use the traditional CO2 Laser. Being one of the widely used technologies for "Full Resurfacing" effects, CO2 Laser uses a wavelength that provides tissue ablation as well as tissue coagulation, generating "sub-ablation" or thermal damage; This procedure has been subject to studies and publications that reflect high risks of burns and/or hyperpigmentation, as well as a longer recovery.

Er: YAG provides the wavelength with the greatest attraction to water, and whose only chromophore is water; making this laser the most accurate, effective, tolerable with the least amount of "down-time" in cosmetic medicine. Similarly, the "Er: YAG" is the most effective alternative in the treatment of ethnic skin.

FAQs

What application do “Laser Peel” treatments have?

The Laser Peel, Laser Resurfacing, Epidermal Resurfacing, or simply Erbium Laser allows the precise evaporation of the epidermal tissue, which is customizable for each patient based on the severity of their condition. It is a highly coveted treatment by fans of non-invasive treatments whose purpose is to obtain “Lifting” effects without surgery, reduction or elimination of scars, reduction of expression lines, refinement of pores, improvement in texture, among others.

How does this technology operate?

Through the use of a wavelength of 2940 nm, which has the highest precision and reading of water molecules in the skin, certain layers of tissue containing the lesions to be treated are removed, thus creating an inflammatory process that leads to the restructuring and remodeling of the tissue, giving the patient optimal and lasting results.

Before or after treatment, it is possible to make use of treatments such as "Photofacials" or "PRP". Because this laser creates microchannels in the skin, it can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to penetrate the plasma deeper into the skin for enhanced rejuvenation.

What to do after treatment with erbium laser peel for skin resurfacing?

It usually takes about 3-5 days for the inflammation to subside, depending on the area treated and the energy used. Patients will notice a constant improvement of lines, wrinkles, sun damage spots and scars for up to 6 months after treatment.

Initially, there will be some swelling. In less than a week, you will see new softer pink skin.

After treatment, it is important to use sunscreen because your skin may be more sensitive to the sun as it is healing. It should not be submerged in saunas, Jacuzzi and swimming pools. You should not exercise for 7 days to avoid infection.

It is a less invasive precision laser that helps enter layer by layer on the skin surface to regenerate creating enough collagen, it has a minimum healing process, unlike other lasers, it is much more harmless and does not generate heat to the surroundings from where the procedure is performed.

Many people compare it or relate it to the co2 laser, its difference is that the co2 laser is a little more aggressive because it uses a much shorter pulsed light energy than that of the erbium.

In the case of people with a darker skin tone, it is advisable to use laser erbium because it is much safer and because its healing is less, the probability of hyperpigmentation is much lower.
